If you are a composer or you have transcriptions of your band’s music as tablature or standard music notation, selling sheet music through your website is a great way to generate income.

How to use the ‘Store’ feature to sell your sheet music

Sheet music can be written in a variety of programs or by hand. If you need to sell sheet music files specifically, you can set up a ‘sheet music’ item in your store feature. The sheet music feature supports the following formats: PDF, MusicXML, MuseScore (.mscz), Sibelius (.sib), Finale (.musx), Guitar Pro (.gp), Power Tab (.ptb).

Here is how you can use the ‘Store’ feature to sell your sheet music:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select the ‘Store’ feature and use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  4. Click ‘Add Product’
  5. Under ‘New Product’, select ‘Sheet Music’
  6. Enter the product information
    • Title: The composition name
    • Description: Enter a thorough description of what the customer would receive when purchasing this item.
    • Status:
      • Available: Item will display for purchase on your website.
      • Not available: Item will display on your website but will include a ‘Not available’ note.
      • Hidden: Allows you to add the item on your Bandzoogle account but won’t display on your website until you are ready to set it to ‘available’.
    • Part: You can add multiple ‘parts’ of the sheet music to sell individually, or set up multiple ‘parts’ you’ve added to a single bundle download. Just click the ‘Add part’ to add additonal parts to the sheet music item. In each part setting you can set:
      • Name: like ‘strings’, or ‘piano’
      • Notes / Description: Optional, but could include key or transcription information for example.
      • Price: the cost to purchase just this single part file.
      • Upload file: where you can upload the part sheet music file.
    • Offer a bundle price for all parts: Toggle this on to set a ‘bundle’ price so customers can download all the parts for the sheet music in a single purchase.
    • Product Image: Upload images from your computer or from dropbox.com. Provide an example of the sheet music that the customer would receive.
    • Audio preview: You can add a short recording so customers can hear the piece for the sheet music before buying:
      • No Audio Preview: No preview player will display
      • Upload track: Upload a custom MP3, WAV, or FLAC audio preview file.
      • Track from library: Select an existing track already uploaded to your site.
  7. Click ‘Save’
