Updated: Add shapes to your images, plus more fine-tuned controls
Posted by Melanie Kealey on Oct 29, 2024

Musicians are highly auditory as a whole, and your fans will often head to your music website to hear your latest and greatest tunes.
But a big part of creating an appealing online presence is offering a website that includes the perfect web pictures to tell your story and engage your listeners.
With that in mind we are so excited to roll out an update to Bandzoogle's 'Image' feature.
Did you say … new shapes?
In the 'Image' or feature we have added tons of shape overlay options. To use this new shape option, head to your control panel and click 'Add feature' and then select the 'Image' feature. You can also add a shape to existing images - look for the 'Shape' option in your 'Image' feature sidebar.
Choose your shape by scrolling through the choices, or filter using the 'Shape,' 'Rounded,' or 'Cut' categories. Then make your selection and see how it suits your image. Click 'Apply' to place the shape onto your image, and you’re all set!

Image caption formatting made easier
While you could always format captions, we've now added a toolbar to make it easier to apply styles and links within your image captions.
If your images don’t have captions, dive in and add some! This not only helps give your pictures context, it’s good for your website SEO in search results (you can also toggle on SEO per image and enter in alt text — another great way to get your terms indexed in search results).
Updated image controls
Along with these two updates, we streamlined some controls within the 'Image' feature's editing options. Cropping and resizing are now always accessible by adjusting image borders, zooming, and repositioning the image within its container. And your image aspect ratio can now be adjusted in the sidebar.
Finally, image features now use a sidebar form with 'Save' and 'Cancel' buttons. This means you can experiment with your changes without them instantly affecting your site.
Didn’t like what you came up with? Choose ‘Reset Image settings’ in the sidebar to bring your image back to the way it was, then try again!
Style your images the way you want
The Bandzoogle features are undergoing a new framework update, allowing for more flexibility without much change on the user end. So you’ll notice more nice additions like this one being rolled out in the coming months as well.
This first rollout is a huge upgrade to making website images more versatile and responsive, and it's a fun detail to experiment with! Whether you’re adding new images to your artist EPK, creating a mini-bio, or just upgrading your artist photos, try customizing your images using these new design details. We can’t wait to see how you apply these new options!
